Construction Meeting Updates – November 16

Here’s the update from today’s construction meeting. And don’t worry all you Aztec Student Union construction diehards…there will be a weekly construction meeting and a report for your viewing pleasure next Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving!

*Due to the weekend rain, construction was held up Monday and Tuesday except for work on the northeast section of the steam tunnel.

*Crews are forming the tunnel walls of the northeast section of the steam tunnel. The concrete for these walls is expected to be poured by the end of the week. (The foundation slab was poured last week.)

*Work continues on the formation of the new manhole #12.1 at the northeast section of the steam tunnel.

*Water was vacuumed out of the northwest section of the steam tunnel over the last two days. University Mechanical returned today to install the remaining guide rail brackets. The actual pipes will be laid soon.

*The grading operation is at a standstill due to the weekend rain. The over-excavating and re-compacting is expected to resume next week, as well as the remaining demolition of the main building’s south wall.
